Jo's Friends concept
Jo’s oncologist was informative and considerate but as Jo’s friend I always wanted more information to help “project manage” the different people involved - my view was that Jo and I were facing a battle together and needed all the information and support we could get to have a chance of winning.
We needed to be able to access and to manage information in our own time, in our own ways and at our own speed. I would have liked to have been able to exchange information and gain support from others in a similar position.
During the battle I turned to the Web for information and wished that I could find one site for CUP that provided comprehensible information and offered support; with links to other sites that were relevant for CUP sufferers. Instead I was faced with a mass of general cancer information from which I had to distil the information that seemed relevant.
When the battle was lost I wanted something done to end the problem of CUP. As a layman, it seemed absurd to me that in the 21st Century it was not possible to diagnose primaries or treat secondaries to gain significant remission from CUP.

CUP is a neglected area. I am delighted to support the work of Jo's friends. This website is a fantastic resource.
